The KN95 respirator filters particles at the same rate as the N95, but fits more loosely. The KN95 has been approved by the FDA for use in situations normally requiring an N95 if an N95 is not available, as has been the case at various times and in various locations during the Covid-19 outbreak. The KN95 may also be used as a surgical mask.
